　「チェナーブ川」は、[[パンジャーブ地方]]を流れて[[インダス川]]に合流する５大河川の１つ。

　[[インド共和国]]の[[ヒマーチャル・プラデーシュ州]]北西部で、[[ヒマラヤ山脈]]から流出した河川が合流。[[ジャンムー・カシミール州]]の南部を経由した後、[[パキスタン=イスラム共和国]]の[[パンジャーブ州|パンジャーブ州，パキスタン=イスラム共和国]]に流入。まず、[[ジェフラム川]]を合流させた後、[[サトレジ川]]を合流させる。さらに後、パンジャーブ州南部で、[[インダス川]]に合流。

　チェナーブ川は上流域の[[ヒマーチャル・プラデーシュ州]]では、ローカルに「チャンドラバーガ（Chandrabhaga）」とも呼ばれている。

　インダス川の合流するまでの総延長は、およそ960kmほど。

　[[ヴェーダ時代]]の文献に「アシュキニ川（Ashkini）」と記されている川が、チェナーブ川に相当すると思われる。古代ギリシア語では「アケシネス川（Acesines）」と呼ばれた、
